Pop cakes

Pop cakes, or cake pop as the Americans call it, is the new trend that follows that of cupcakes. 

Originally, they are balls made with crumbs of stale cakes or cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • Stale cakes or cupcakes

Instructions

  1. The crumbs are mixed with frosting or melted chocolate. The dough obtained must be consistent enough to be able to roll into balls.
  2. The balls are then mounted on lollipop sticks and put in the refrigerator to solidify.
  3. The sticks can be stitched into a piece of polystyrene or placed on a tray.
  4. Finally, they can be decorated with icing and pastry garnishes.

Pop cakes can be made from any recipe for cake or cupcake and decorated in a thousand and one ways.

It's a nice thing to do with the children on a rainy afternoon and present a different treat.
