Tomato soup

Tomato soup is a classic. Very easy to make and you really can not fail it. 

Once you've made soup yourself, you will never again buy canned soups. 

In winter this soup is warming and if you have a cold, celery gives you a boost.

  • 3 cans peeled tomatoes (400 g each)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 celery
  • 1 leek
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 sprig thyme
  • 4 stock cubes
  • 100 ml cream
  • 2 liters water
  • salt & pepper


  1. peel and slice the vegetables into pieces

  2. fill a soup pot with 2 liters of water

  3. add the vegetables, thyme and stock cubes
  4. season with salt and pepper
  5. bring to a boil
  6. when the soup has reached boiling point, reduce heat and let simmer
  7. after 30-40 min., the soup is ready
  8. mix the soup
  9. add the cream
  10. taste and season with salt and pepper if needed

Recipe Notes

  • Once the cream is added to the soup, the soup should not boil anymore.
  • Instead of stock cubes you can add soup meat.
